Michael's Tech Blog

I’m Michael, an IT professional working remotely in beautiful Chino, California.

I’ve spent most of my life working with computers. I’ve always been curious to know what makes them tick and how to get the most out of them. Throughout my career, I've developed a breadth of skills which allow me to quickly create and implement solutions to a variety of complex problems.

With over 6 years of diverse experience across various IT roles, I've dedicated significant time to self-directed professional development, investing years in completing online courses and hands-on projects in both IT and software development. Complementing this, I hold an associate’s degree in business administration from Chaffey College. My professional journey spans both small business environments and enterprise settings, where I've cultivated robust problem-solving abilities and demonstrated effective communication and customer service. My broad technical expertise allows me to quickly acquire new skills as needed.

I’ve taken the lead on several projects, including being part of a company-wide rollout of Duo, developing security best practices for Linux systems, implementing imaging solutions for both Windows and macOS systems, maintaining and setting up equipment in three computer labs, migrating department documentation to SharePoint, and evaluating solutions for mobile device management. Additionally, I've served as a mentor to colleagues in various roles, providing guidance and support in their professional development. Moreover, I've acted as a lead for a team of 5 IT analysts, overseeing their work and ensuring project success.

Outside of work you’ll find me spending time with my wife, son, and two cats, listening to music, podcasts, and audio books, playing video and board games, working out, watching MMA and sci-fi movies, or playing ukulele.
